Hornet softball falls to Wyalusing, 2-1.

Hornet softball falls to Wyalusing, 2-1.
 

The Wellsboro Varsity softball team dropped a 2-1 NTL cross-over game to Wyalusing Wednesday night on the road.

The Hornets led 1-0 after the first inning but Wyalusing scored in the second and third to take a 2-1 lead which they kept the rest of the way.

Freshman Sarah Ingerick hit her second home run of the season, scoring the only run for the Lady Hornets. Junior Maggie Smith and Freshman Darci Warriner hits the other two hits of the game, with Smith's being a double.

Freshman Alexa Singer started on the mound for the Lady Hornets, pitching the first 3 innings. Singer gave up 2 earned runs, 6 hits, a double, and struck out 1 on her way to the loss. Junior Brooke Kohler pitched the final 3 innings, striking out 4 and allowing 3 hits.

With the loss, the Lady Hornets fall to 6-2 (3-0 NTL West). The team will be back in action on Satuday, April 27 as they travel to Cowanesque Valley.
