Attention athletes, you can now apply for the Wendy's High School Heisman scholarship.

The Wellsboro Area School District would like to inform parents that accident insurance for their child is available for this school year. Student accident insurance can help eliminate the possibility of out-of-pocket expenses if a child is hurt or injured while in school or attending a school function.

The Wellsboro School District has just released ticket prices for the 2012-13 season.

The Wellsboro Hornets Sports Booster Club kicked off the start of the Fall 2012 sports season at the first ever Swarm the Hive event Wendesday night. The event, which replaced Meet the Hornets, included a tailgate, fun and games, and introduction of the athletic teams and new Lettermen.

Sophomore Pitchers Maggie Smith and Brooke Kohler earned First Team selections to the 2012 NTL West All-Star team. Overall six Hornets were selected to the team.

Seniors Chase Barnes and Raina Rogers were named Male and Female Athletes of the Year Tuesday night at the Annual Wellsboro Hornets Sports Booster Club banquet.

Six members of the Hornet Varsity softball team were selected to the Towanda Daily Review's 2011-12 All-Region Team.

The Wellsboro Varsity softball team lost to Troy last night 5-1 in the second round of District 4 playoffs to end their 2012 season.

Freshman Peyton Wilson came through in the clutch to lift the Hornets to a 6-5 victory over South Williamsport in the first round of District 4 softball playoffs last night in Wellsboro.

The Wellsboro Varsity softball team fell to Troy last night, 15-0, losing claim to the NTL West title.

On Tuesday, May 8, the Wellsboro School Board approved the hire of Matt Rendos as the new Athletic Director at Wellsboro High School. Rendos, who is currently a Guidance Counselor at the High School, will be taking over immediately for former AD Sherri Prough.

The Wellsboro Varsity softball team rebounded from a loss to CV last night by defeating Williamson 4-3 tonight in Wellsboro. Freshmen Paige Carr and Lauren Bleggi led the Hornets at the plate with two hits each.

The Wellsboro Varsity softball team suffered their first loss in the last four games as they were shut out against CV, 2-0. The Hornet's offense was dormant last night, as Freshmen Lauren Bleggi and Jordan Butters had the only hits on the night.
