Troy, Athens, Wellsboro pull out wins late in NTL softballEAST TROY — Down 5-2 in the fifth inning, the Trojans scored six times in the inning to beat Towanda 8-5 on Wednesday.

Kerrigan Hoffman went the distance on the mound for Troy, striking out seven and walking none.

Vanessa Watson had three hits, with a triple, for the Trojans, driving in a run and scoring two runs.

Elena Breese had a hit, an RBI and a run scored and Madison Alexander had two RBI and a run scored.

Brianna Rathbun and Kreyanna Jackson scored runs for the Trojans.

Rachael Bair had two hits, with a double, and a run scored for Towanda.

Casey Hawley had a hit and scored a run and Bella Bartholomew scored two runs.

Jayde Parsons had a hit, two RBI and a run scored, Maggie Falsey had an RBI and Cearra McLinko had a hit and an RBI.

Parsons and Hawley pitched, combining to strike out two in the game.

Athens 5, Liberty 3

Emma Adams had three hits and scored two runs in her first varsity game to help Athens get the win.

Adams scored the go ahead run in the seventh inning to break a 3-all tie on an Aubrey Allen sacrifice. Lexi Morley drove in Reagan Lynch in the inning with a double to cap the scoring.

Adams and Allen combined on the mound, striking out two.

Morgan Ferguson scored a run for Athens and Lynch had a hit and scored two runs. Allen had the RBI and Kaitlyn Testen had a pair of hits.

Morley and Hannah Reid each had doubles in the game.

Kristina Buchanan had a solo home run for Liberty and Britta Berguson had two hits, with a triple, and a run scored.

Emily Strange had two hits and Abby Heatley had a hit.

Savannah Doney struck out four on the mound for Liberty.

Wellsboro 1, Wyalusing 0

The Green Hornets got a game-winning hit from Kailee Clymer to score Brianne Keane in the bottom of the seventh on Wednesday.

Clymer had a two-hit day, with an RBI and a triple.

Keane scored a run and Sydney Tremper and Sarah Ingerick had hits in the game.

Alyssa Yungwirth threw a three-hit shutout, striking out seven.

Kyleigh Ward struck out three in a four-hit effort for the Rams.

Melody Kneller, Ward and Sarah Bird had hits in the game for the Rams.

Williamson 13, Canton 5

Williamson scored seven runs in the first inning of the win.

Sarah Bates had a hit, a run and an RBI and on the mound she struck out eight for the Warriors.

Emma Durst scored a run and Andrea Regalbuto had a pair of hits and two runs scored.

Sam Harrington had a hit and scored a run and Kendra Colegrove had two hits, with a double, and two runs scored.

Emily Hackett scored a run and Hannah Deacon had a hit and scored a run. Kendra Shaffer had a hit and scored a run and Hannah Fitzmartin had two hits, with a double, and three runs scored.

Canton got a three-run home run from Evelyn Katona and Alexa Roy had a solo home run.

Lauren Watkins had two hits, with a triple, and two runs scored and Brooke Ward had a hit, while Maggy Machmer scored a run.

Katona started on the mound for Canton.
