Troy, Wyalusing fall in district play.

2015 Troy vs. Milton SoftballEAST TROY - A bad sixth inning put Troy in a hole, then in the seventh Milton pulled out the 4-3 win in District IV, Class AA softball quarterfinal action Thursday.

After four scoreless innings to start the Trojans took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the fifth.

In the top of the sixth Milton added three of their own to go up 3-2.

The Trojans tied it in the bottom half of the inning but the Black Panthers added another run in the seventh to get the win.

Kelsey Bristol had three hits, a run scored and an RBI to lead Troy while Vanessa Watson added a double. Faith Ceely and Brooke Losey-Root had one hit each with Losey-Root's an RBI.

Jerilyn Ross started for Troy and went the first five innings while Kerrigan Hoffman came in for the last two and scored the loss.

They combined for four runs, nine hits, seven strikeouts and three walks.

Central Columbia 10, Wyalusing 0, 6 innings

The Rams ran into a buzz saw of a team in the defending state champions during District IV, Class AA softball quarterfinal action Thursday.

Wyalusing was held to one hit while Central had nine hits and scored in five of the six innings.

Kyleigh Ward took the loss for the Rams.

Rachel Davis led Central, going 2-for-3 with a home run, 2-RBI and a run scored while Carley Swisher was 1-for-4 with 2-RBI. Allison McCracken was 1-for-2 with a double and a run scored.

Central will now face Wellsboro in the semi-finals.
