2015 Troy vs. Cowanesque Valley SoftballWAVERLY, N.Y. - The Tioga softball team took a 6-0 lead and picked up a 6-2 win over Waverly on Tuesday afternoon.

Katelyn Stubbs had a hit for Tioga and Dani Barto scored two runs.

Sam Wood had two hits, with a double, an RBI and a run scored and Britt Vergason had a hit and scored a run.

Mariah Culver had a home run, three hits, three RBI and a run scored for Tioga.

Sarah Hollenbeck had two doubles for Tioga in the game and Paige Hendershot had an RBI.

Wood struck out eight on the mound for Tioga.

Kalie Herriman had three hits and scored a run for Waverly and Shailei Kraft had two hits and scored a run.

Kiana Manuel and Sam Mennig each had two hits for Waverly and Zoe Mennig and Taylor Nicholas had hits for the Wolverines.

Kendra Ellers struck out three for the Wolverines.

Wellsboro 6, Wyalusing 3

Alyssa Yungwirth had a home run and Sarah Ingerick went 4-for-4 to lead the Green Hornets.

Yungwirth had a solo home run and Ingerick had three doubles, two RBI and a run scored.

Jenny Young had a double, a stolen base and scored two runs and Peyton Wilson stole a base and scored a run.

Darci Warriner had a double and Baylea Lehman had two hits, a run scored, an RBI and a stolen base.

Paighton Martin had two hits and scored a run for Wyalusing and Kasey DeVoir had a double, an RBI and a run scored.

Ally DeVoir had two hits and Erin Canfield and Kyleigh Ward had hits, with Ward scoring a run.

Trinity Kipp had a hit and Kristie Epler had two hits with an RBI.

Alexa Singer struck out two on the mound for Wellsboro and Ward struck out 10 for the Rams.

Wyalusing hosts Liberty on Thursday and Wellsboro hosts Troy today.

Troy 9, CV 3

The Trojans scored three runs in the third, two in the fourth and three more in the sixth on their way to the win on Tuesday.

Faith Ceely had a hit and scored three runs for Troy and Brooke Mattocks had three hits, with a double, and scored three times.

Vanessa Watson has a hit and a run scored and Taylor Murray had a hit, while Kelsey Bristol and Taylor Johnston scored runs.

Kerrigan Hoffman and Watson pitched, striking out seven between them and walking one.

Maddy Hatch had a hit for CV and Becky Plummer had a hit and scored a run.

Kayla Schauer had a double and a run scored and Jessi Prutsman had two hits, with a double, and two RBI.

Taylor Hager had a hit and scored a run, Whitney Earl had a hit and Amaya Walker had a hit and an RBI. Hager and Hatch pitched, striking out six and walking three.

Troy is at Wellsboro today.

Benton 4, Sullivan County 2

The Griffins got an RBI from McKenzie Doyle and Bethany Weinhardt and Kassandra Houseknecht scored runs in the loss.

Quincy Fry pitched for the Griffins, striking out one.

Sullivan County hosts Bloomsburg on Thursday.
