Notre Dame softball tops Waverly.

2014 Wellsboro vs. Athens SoftballThe Notre Dame Crusaders and Waverly Wolverines met for the second time this week on Friday and this time Notre Dame came out on top, winning 7-2.

On Tuesday the Wolverines got the win, but Notre Dame got a home run and a double from Alivia Clark on Friday to hand Waverly it's first loss.

Clark added an RBI and scored two runs and she struck out six on the mound Friday.

Mackenzie Mahajan had two hits, with a double, and Mackenzie Maloney had a hit and scored two runs.

Morgan Cox and Ali Raupers each scored runs for Notre Dame and Ally Wichtowski had a hit, two RBI and a run scored.

Kiana Manuel had two hits, with a double, and a run scored, for Waverly and Megan Wilbur had a hit and an RBI.

Stephanie Bellis had two hits, with a double, and a run scored and Shailei Kraft had two hits, with an RBI.

Becca Morgan had a double for Waverly and Morgan Salsman had a hit.

Sam Mennig struck out eight on the mound.

Wellsboro 8, Athens 3

The Green Hornets got a three-run home run from Jordan Butters, with four RBI and a double and Paige Carr had a 3-for-3 day with two RBI and a double in the win.

Baylea Lehman had two hits and two RBI for Wellsboro.

Mackenzie Hafer had a home run for Athens and Kaitlyn Testen, Hannah Reid, Miranda Peterson, Rica Dimon and Reagan Lynch had hits for Athens in the game.

Dimon and Testen scored runs for Athens.

Alexa Singer struck out five on the mound for Wellsboor in five innings and Brooke Kohler struck out three in two innings.

Aubrey Allen struck out one for Athens.

Wellsboro is at Williamson on Monday.

NEB 12, Williamson 6

Danielle Moore hit her first career home run as NEB picked up the win on Friday.

Moore had three RBI and scored two runs.

Maddy Johnson had three hits, with a triple and scored two runs and Chelsie Souto had a hit.

Cassie Johnson scored two runs and Calla Johnson had two hits, with an RBI and a run.

Angelia Laudermilch had a hit, two runs and two RBI and Julia Williams had a double and two RBI.

Katie Boardman, Hannah Dum and Megan Brown all scored runs and Bridget Haverly had a hit and an RBI.

Monica Brown had a hit for NEB.

Souto struck out 15 and walked 12 in the win.

Sarah Bates had two hits, with a triple, two runs scored and an RBI for Williamson and Megan Wyblie, Kendra Colegrove and Emma Durst had hits.

Mikayla Butz, Sam Herrington and Kelly Shieve scored runs for Williamson.

Bates and Durst pitched for CV, striking out one.

Canton 4, CV 1

Joslyn Spencer had a double and two RBI and Emily Jennings had an RBI for Canton in the win.

Lacy Castle had a hit and scored a run and Makenzy Route, Jennings and Lauryn Watkins scored runs in the game.

Kellsy Ross struck out six and allowed one unearned run, walking three and allowing six hits in the game.

Becky Plummer had two hits for CV and Jess Prutsman had a hit.

Shanelle Ianson, Julie Brubaker and Taylor Hager had hits, with Ianson getting an RBI. Torie Burdick scored for CV.

Ianson struck out four and allowed one hit and two runs, one earned, with one walk in 6 1/3 innings. Hager and Maddy Hatch finished up, striking out none, walking one and allowing a hit and two runs, one earned.

Tioga 7, Candor 2

The Tigers improved to 4-0 in the division, taking a four-game lead over Candor as they close in on the division title.

"It was an important win for us, it gives us a couple games lead over those guys," Tioga coach Jim Wood said.

Sam Wood went 3-for-4 with two doubles and four RBI and Dani Barto had two hits, with a double and a triple and an RBI.

Katelyn Stubbs had a hit, two stolen bases and scored three runs and Taylor Ayres had a stolen base and scored two runs.

Lizz Platt scored two runs and Sarah Hollenbeck had an RBI.

Wood struck out five and walked none in the game, allowing one earned run.

Tioga hosts SVE on Monday.

WILLIAMSPORT TOURNAMENT

Loyalsock 12, Towanda 2, 5 innings

Allie Pagana was 3-for-3 with a double, a triple, three runs and an RBI and Kay Kay Lupo had a home run, a double and four RBI to lead Loyalsock past Towanda.

Kayla Gee and Kenda Watkins each had two hits and a run and Watkins added two RBI.

Mackenzie Roof and Sam Schoonover had Towanda's two hits, with Roof getting an RBI.

Gee was the winning pitcher for Loyalsock, throwing a two hitter, and Alaina Wickwire and Tara Welliver pitched for Towanda in the game.

Williamsport 2, Troy 1

Faityh Ceely, Brooke Mattocks and Brooke Losey-Root each had hits for Troy in the loss.

Losey-Root had a triple and an RBI, driving in Mattocks for the Trojans run.

Kaitlyn Caringi was 3-for-3 with two RBI for Williamsport and McKenzie Tebbs had a triple and a run scoree and Taylor Brooks had a double and a run scored. Chloe Jennings and Samantha Fischer each had hits for Troy.

Kerrigan Hoffman struck out one, walked two and allowed seven hits for Troy. Mikayla Bower struck out 12 and allowed three hits and one run for Williamsport.

Troy takes on Montoursville today.
