Troy softball tops Danville, Wyalusing edged by Valley View.

The Troy softball team notched a 4-3 victory over Danville on Tuesday afternoon.

Faith Ceely led the Trojans offense with a 3-for-4 game with two runs scored and an RBI.

Bethany Manley and Kara Schucker limited Danville to five hits in the game, with Manley striking out one, walking two and allowing one hit, and one unearned run in four innings, while Schucker struck out four, walked one, and allowed three hits and two earned runs in three innings.

"I was pleased with the pitching given the weather conditions," Troy coach Brian Canfield said. "They were very consistent, both pitchers had a great game with the weather.

"Faith Ceely had a strong game offensively and defensively for us."

Kayla Stephani and Tiffani Mattocks each had two hits, including a double, and both scored a run.

Taylor Murray had a hit and an RBI and Brooke Mattocks added two RBI in the game.

Troy is at Central Mountain on Thursday.

Valley View 2, Wyalusing 1

The Rams jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning, but a two-run double by Gina Chieffallo in the sixth inning helped Valley View get the victory at home.

Emily Faulkner went the distance on the mound for the Rams, striking out one, walking four, and allowing three hits and two runs.

Kasey DeVoir and Arielle Kneller each had two hits for Wyalusing, with Kneller getting an RBI.

Alley DeVoir had a hit and scored the Rams' run, and Paighton Martin added a hit in the game for Wyalusing.

Chieffalo pitched for Valley View, striking out two, and allowing six hits and one run.

Wyalusing hosts Canton on Friday.
