Notre Dame rolls to win in IAC title game; NEB stays unbeaten.

2012 Northeast Bradford vs. Athens SoftballThe Notre Dame Crusaders had to travel to take on Whitney Point on their home field for the IAC title on Wednesday afternoon.

However, it didn't take the Crusaders long to feel right at home as they rolled to a 16-1 victory in five innings to claim the title.

Athens' Olivia May limited Whitney Point to two hits, one walk and one run, while striking out five. At the plate she had a hit, a run scored and two RBI and Sydney Dimon was 3-for-3 with a double and three runs scored.

Sam Erbach led the Notre Dame offense, going 4-for-4 with six RBI, a double and three runs scored, and a stolen base, and Emily Lepkowski had three hits, with a double, a run scored and three RBI.

Athens' Becca Saggiomo had a hit, a stolen base and she scored three runs and Alivia Clark had a hit in the game.

Detta Gublo scored two runs and stole a base and McKaleigh Miller had a hit and scored a run, while Abby Carr scored a run in the game.

Chelsea Camilo had a hit and scored a run for Notre Dame in the game.

NEB 10, Athens 0, 5 innings

ATHENS - The Panthers exploded for seven fourth-inning runs on their way to the victory on Wednesday.

Calla Martin had two doubles, two RBI and two runs scored and MaKaylah Holbert had two hits, with a double, an RBI, a stolen base and two runs scored.

Haylie Phillips had two hits, with a run scored and three RBI and Kelsey Carlsen had a hit and scored a run.

Nicki Emick had a hit, a run scored and an RBI and Aubri Mosier had a double and an RBI.

Bridget Haverly had a hit and an RBI and Kelsey Goodwin had a hit and a run scored, while Maddy Johnson had a hit, a stolen base and two runs scored.

Chelsie Souto struck out eight, walked one and allowed two hits to get the victory.

Jensen Dunkling and Jenn Wells had the hits for Athens in the game.

Christin Dunkling pitched 3 1/3 innings for Athens, striking out four and Kiersten Horton worked 1 2/3 innings of scoreless relief, allowing one hit and striking out one.

Neumann 12, Sullivan County 0, 5 innings

Alysssa Blasi pitched for the Griffins in the loss and Justine McCarty was the catcher.

Neumann got four runs each in the first, second and fourth innings.

Sullivan County hosts CMVT today.
