Wellsboro softball wins NTL, Division I; ND wins division.

2015 Troy vs. Athens SoftballThe Wellsboro Green Hornets scored four runs in the second inning on their way to a 6-2 win over Liberty on Friday that helped them capture the NTL, Division I title.

Wellsboro got another strong pitching performance in the win as Alyssa Yungwirth pitched four innings, striking out four and allowing one hit and two walks and no runs. Yungwirth has yet to allow a run in NTL play this season.

Alexa Singer worked three innings for Wellsboro striking out four and walking none and allowing two hits and two runs, one earned.

Yungwirth had two doubles and two RBI, scoring a run, in the win and Darci Warriner had two hits and an RBI.

Jordan Butters had a hit and scored a run and Sarah Ingerick had a hit and an RBI.

Lauren Smith had two hits, with a double, and a run scored for Liberty and Mariah Berguson had a double and an RBI.

Kristina Buchanan struck out one in three innings to start the game for Liberty.

Wellsboro hosts Jersey Shore on Monday.

Notre Dame 25, Spencer Van-Etten 1

The Crusaders captured the IAC, Large-School South title on Friday with the victory.

Alivia Clark had four hits in the game with two RBI and three runs scored and Izzy Milazzo had two hits, with a double, three RBI and three runs scored.

Morgan Cox had a hit and scored two runs and Mackenzie Maloney had three hits, with a double and a triple, two RBI and three runs scored.

Maura Glovins had two hits, with an RBI and four runs scored and Courtney Crater had three hits, with an RBI and three runs scored.

Dillon Leonard had a hit and Mackenzie Mahajan had two hits, with a double, three RBI and two runs scored.

Hannah Mahon had a hit and scored a run and Meg Dunham scored a run, while Brooke Harvey had a triple, a run scored and three RBI.

Milazzo struck out two and allowed one hit in two innings and Clark struck out four and allowed three hits in three innings. Neither pitcher walked a batter.

Troy 6, Athens 5

EAST TROY - Vanessa Watson's walk-off hit in the seventh scored Brooke Mattocks with the winning run on Friday.

Kelsey Bristol had three hits for the Trojans and scored two runs and Mattocks had three hits, with a double and two runs scored.

Taylor Johnston had two hits and an RBI and Watson had a hit and an RBI.

Taylor Murray and Marissa Jarrell each had hits and scored runs in the game and Brooke Losey-Root had an RBI for the Trojans.

Jerilyn Ross struck out three on the mound for Troy.

Jensen Dunkling scored a run for Athens and Kaitlyn Testen had two hits and scored two runs.

Lexi Morley had three hits, with a triple, an RBI and a run scored and Aubrey Allen had a double and an RBI.

Reagan Lynch and Hannah Reid had hits and Sarah Munn had a hit and scored a run.

Allen struck out three on the mound for Athens.

Williamson 13, NEB 1

The Warriors scored seven runs in the first inning on their way to the victory on Friday.

Sarah Bates had a double, an RBI and scored two runs and Emma Durst scored two runs.

Kendra Colegrove had two hits, with a triple, three runs scored and four RBI and Sam Herrington had two hits, with a stolen base, two RBI and three runs scored.

Makayla Butz had a pair of hits and two RBI and Andi Regalbuto had a hit.

Emily Hackett had three hits and scored a run and Hannah Fitzmartin scored a run, while Megan Wyble had two hits and scored a run.

Durst struck out three on the mound.

Maddy Johnson, Hannah Dum, Rachael Allis, Annie Williams, McKenna Wheaton, Gabby Slater and Shelby Park had hits for NEB.

Slater had an RBI and Danielle Moore scored for the Panthers.

Slater started on the mound and Dum and Williams pitched. The three combined to strike out six.

Newark Valley 11, Tioga 8, 9 innings

TIOGA CENTER, N.Y. - After trailing 4-1 after three innings, the Tigers rallied to take the lead on Friday, but in the end Newark Valley had the answers in the ninth.

Newark Valley scored three runs in the sixth to go up 8-6, before Tioga tied the game in the bottom of the sixth.

In the ninth Newark Valley got three runs to win it.

Katelyn Stubbs had a hit and scored a run for Tioga and Dani Barto had two hits and scored a run, with an RBI.

Sam Wood had three hits and scored a run and Mariah Culver had three hits and scored a run.

Sarah Hollenbeck scored a run.

Rachael Graham had a hit for Tioga and Sara Strong had two hits, with an RBI and a run scored.

Paige Hendershot had a hit and scored a run and Taylor Ayres had a hit and scored two runs.

Wood struck out 11 in seven innings and Culver struck out six in two innings.

Sierra Post had three hits, with a home run, two runs scored and four RBI to lead Newark Valley and Molly Graves added three hits for Newark Valley.

Sayre 11, Sullivan County 0, 5 innings

Kassie Winters threw a two-hit shutout for the Redskins, striking out five and walking one in the game.

Hannah Hitchcock had two hits, with a home run, and four RBI and Dominique Woodruff had three hits, with a double, and scored two runs.

Anna King had two hits and Sydney Post had a hit, an RBI and a run scored.

Kate Cron had a hit and an RBI and Caitlyn Garrity had a hit and scored two runs.

Kaitlynn McCarter scored a run and had an RBI and Winters and Jaycee Henry each scored runs, while Heather Croft scored two runs.

Sadie Lewis and Mackenzie Doyle had hits for the Griffins.

Quinn Fry struck out two on the mound for Sullivan County.

Waverly 9, Odessa-Montour 1

The Wolverines got three hits, with a home run and a double, from Kiana Manuel in the win.

Manuel scored three runs and drove in four for the Wolverines.

Zoe Mennig scored a run and Kalie Herriman had two hits and scored a run.

Kendra Ellers had an RBI and Shailei Kraft had a double, an RBI and two runs scored.

Sam Mennig had a hit and an RBI and Karleigh VanNess had a hit and scored a run, while Michaela Gallagher scored a run.

Ellers struck out nine, walked one and allowed three hits and an unearned run on the mound for the Wolverines.

CV 11, Canton 2

The Indians got three hits, with a double, and a triple, an RBI and two runs scored from Becky Plummer and Jessi Prutsman had two hits, with a double, an RBI and two runs scored.

Whitney Earl had two hits, with a triple, and two RBI and Maddy Hatch had a hit and a run scored.

Madison Lee had a hit and scored three runs and Julie Draper had a hit and an RBI.

Jenna Romaneo scored two runs and Madeline Heyler scored a run.

Taylor Hager struck out 10 and allowed two hits on the mound for CV.

Canton got a hit and a run scored from Lauryn Watkins and Kayla Shay had a hit and an RBI.

Kelsey Griffin struck out three in five innings on the mound and Maggy Machmer pitched an inning.

The Rams got three hits from Kasey DeVoir, with an RBI and two runs scored, and Ally DeVoir had two hits, with an RBI and two runs scored.

Kyleigh Ward had two hits with an RBI and Paighton Martin scored two runs.

Erin Canfield had a hit and Kate Epler scored a run, while Sarah Bird scored two runs.

Maddy Eberlin had a hit, Trinity Kipp had a hit and Kristie Epler scored a run.

Ward struck out three on the mound and Kate Epler struck out one in one inning. The two combined to allow three hits.

Madi Doss had a hit, a stolen base and a run scored for Towanda, Justine Vargason had a hit and an RBI and Larisa Terry had a hit.

Vargason struck out one on the mound and Jayde Parsons struck out two.
