Wyalusing softball tops Towanda.

The Wyalusing softball team scored six runs in the fourth and all 11 runs in the fourth through sixth innings on their way to an 11-6 win over Towanda in NTL softball action.

Hailey Jayne made her first start on the mound for the Rams and the freshman struck out five and allowed five hits in the win.

Kristie Epler had two hits, with two RBI and a run scored and Callie Bennett had two hits, a run scored and an RBI.

Sarah Bird had two hits, a double, a run scored and three RBI and Jayne had a hit.

Melody Kneller scored a run and Autumn Dietz had two hits, an RBI and a run scored.

Emily Champluvier scored two runs and Shelby Kipp scored a run.

Daphne Fassett had two hits, a run scored and an RBI and Madelyn Valoroso had two hits, two runs scored, a double and an RBI.

Wyalusing coach Jack Loomis was happy with his freshman pitcher on the mound, and also happy with the way her dad, Brett, his new assistant coach this year has done with the hitters on the team.

"He's (Brett) done a great job with the batters and the girls have done a great job hitting the ball," Loomis said. "Hailey's going to have a great career here. We have a good team and I think we are only going to get better. One through nine for us are all hitting the ball, I hope they keep up the good work."

Madi Doss had two hits with a run scored and two stolen bases for Towanda and Cearra McLinko scored a run and had an RBI.

Rachael Bair had a hit, a run scored, an RBI and a stolen base and Emily Dunn had a hit and scored a run. Hannah Chandler had a hit, two runs scored and an RBI.

Gabby Slater struck out one on the mound for Towanda.

Wyalusing is at Troy on Wednesday.
