Wyalusing shuts out Williamson 8-0.

Kyleigh Ward threw a two-hitter with eight strikeouts and went 3-for-4 on offense with two runs to lead Wyalusing to their 8-0 win over Williamson in local softball action on Thursday.

For Wyalusing, Sarah Bird had a single and a double, Kristie Epler had two singles and two runs, Trinity Kipp added one run, Melody Kneller finished with a single and a run, Autumn Dietz added two runs on one hit and two RBI's, Madelyn Valaroso finished with a single and one RBI, Miranda Herbert added a single and an RBI and Daphne Fasset also had a single and an RBI.

For Williamson, Emma Durst allowed eight runs and struck out nine. Kendra Colegrove had one hit and Makayla Butz finished with a hit and a stolen base.

Waverly 12, Newark Valley 3

Wendi Hammond scored a run, stole a base, hit a triple and a home run and had two RBI's to lead Waverly to their 12-3 win over Newark Valley on Thursday.

Paige Miller had two runs, a single, a double and an RBI, Shailei Kraft had two runs, a single, a double and a triple and one RBI, Riley Hall finished with two hits and an RBI, Zoe Mennig finished with one run, one hit and an RBI, Jordan Mente added two runs, a single and a double, Katie Goodwin finished with a run and an RBI, Kari VanAllen finished with one run, two hits, three stolen bases and an RBI and Sydney Meyers had one run.

Kraft started the game for Waverly and threw three and two thirds innings, allowing three runs and striking out four. Riley Hall relieved her for one and one third innings and did not allow a run. Wendi Hammond pitched the last two innings, striking out five and allowing no runs on one hit.
