Wellsboro falls to Hughesville, 3-1The Green Hornets fell to Hughesville 3-1 in local softball action on Monday.

For WellsboroRyann Adams and Kailee Clymer each had two hits; Alyssa Yungwirth, Sydney TremperCathryn Brought and Brianne Keane each had one hit; and Tiana Lecker had one run and one hit.

Brought started the game for Wellsboro and pitched three innings, striking out two and allowing three runs, two earned, on three hits and two walks. Yungwirth pitched the rest of the game, allowing no runs, no hits and striking out six batters.

Cowanesque Valley 14, Montgomery 4

Julia Draper had one run, three hits, including two doubles, and seven RBI to lead CV to their 14-4 win over Montgomery on Monday.

For CV, Hayley Murphy finished with two runs; Emma McClaren added one run and one hit; Ashleigh Southard and Brynn Williams each had one RBI; Karmen Short had three runs, one hit and one RBI; Amaya Walker added three run, one double and one RBI; Madison Lee finished with two runs, two hits, including a double, and one RBI; and Jenna Romaneo had two runs and one hit.

Southard pitched a complete game for CV, striking out three and allowing four runs, none earned, on five hits.

Towanda 10, Sayre 0, 5 innings

Justine Vargason threw a five inning complete game, no-hitter, striking out five batters en route to Towanda's 10-0 win over Sayre on Monday.

For Towanda, Madi Doss had a run and a triple, Gabby Larcom added two runs, a triple and an RBI; Mary Smiley had a run, a double and an RBI; Larisa Terry had three hits, including a triple and three runs; Rachael Bair added one run, one hit and two RBI; Shaye Chandler had one hit, a run and an RBI; Vargason finished with two hits and a run; Vanessa Vanderpool had two hits and three RBI and Hannah Chandler had one RBI.

Kaitlynn McCarter pitched for Sayre. In five innings of work, she struck out one, walked two and allowed 10 runs on 13 hits.

Towanda goes to Tioga today at 4:30.

NP-Liberty 17, Sullivan County 0, 4 innings

Savanah Doney threw four scoreless innings, striking out seven, allowing two hits, and also had two runs, four hits, including a double and home run, and three RBI on offense to lead NP-Liberty to their 17-0 win over Sullivan County on Monday.

For NPL, Carmen Bates finished with three runs on three walks; Brooke Harvey added three runs, two hits, including a double and a home run, and three RBI; Abby Heatley had one run and one hit; Sara Swingle finished with three runs and a double; Liz Williams had two runs; Emma Williams had one run; and Mariah Kshir added two runs, a double and one RBI.

For Sullivan, Quincy Fry and Jessica King each had one hit.

Madison Burke started for Sullivan. In 2 1/3 innings of work, she struck out two and allowed five earned runs on three hits and five walks.

Savannah Baldwin relieved her for 1 2/3 innnings, allowing nine runs on five hits. Emma Shadduck relieved her and allowed three runs on one hit.

Williamson 8, Addison 5, Game 1

Emylee Yusko scored two runs, hit a triple and home run, and drove in two runs to lead Williamson to their 8-5 win over Addison in the first game of a doubleheader.

For Williamson, Kendra Colegrove had two runs and two hits; Makayla Butz added a run, two hits and an RBI; Briana Padgett had a run, a double and two RBI; Kamryn Miller had two runs, two hits and an RBI; and Sarah Learn finished with one hit and an RBI.

Yusko pitched a complete game for Williamson, striking out six and allowing five runs on four hits.

Williamson 12, Addison 8, Game 2

Yusko scored three runs, hit three triples and knocked in two runs to lead Williamson to their 12-8 victory over Addison in game two of their doubleheader.

For Williamson, Emma Durst scored two runs, two hits and one RBI; Kendra Colegrove had one hit and one RBI; Makayla Butz finished with two runs, and two hits, including a triple; Briana Padgett had one run, two hits, including a double; Ella Durst finished with two hits and two RBI; Micaiah Welch had one RBI; Lindsey Colegrove finished with a run and a hit; and Kiera McCormick added two runs and one hit.

Emma Durst pitched for Williamson. In seven innings of work she allowed eight runs on 12 hits and struck out six.

Bloomsburg 3, Troy 2

Troy fell to Bloomsburg, 3-2, after a three-run seventh inning by the Panthers.

For Troy, Gabby Cory had one hit and an RBI and Rozanne Kingsley also had a hit and a RBI.

Vanessa Watson took the loss for Troy.
