Wellsboro downs NP-Liberty, 5-3.

Wellsboro downs NP-Liberty, 5-3Kailee Clymer had one run, two hits, including a home run, and one RBI to lead Wellsboro to their 5-3 win over NP-Liberty on Monday.

For Wellsboro, Ryann Adams had one run and two hits, Alyssa Yungwirth had one run and three hits, Sydney Tremper finished with one run and one double, Cathryn Brought and Brianne Keane finished with one hit and one RBI and Tiana Lecker had one run.

For NPL, Carmen Bates and Savannah Doney each had one hit and one run, Brooke Harvey added one run and two hits, and Abby Heatley and Emily Strange each had one hit.

Yungwirth pitched for Wellsboro, allowing three runs on six hits and striking out 11.

Doney pitched for NPL, allowing five runs on 10 hits and striking out five.

Wyalusing 9, Towanda 8

Wyalusing defeated Towanda 9-8 in the last inning after a line drive from Trinity Kipp ricocheted off of Towanda's pitcher's glove into center field, allowing the winning run to be scored by Wyalusing's Taylor Schum.

For Wyalusing, Kyleigh Ward had four hits, including a grand slam and a double, scored two runs and had six RBI to lead the Rams. Kristie Epler, Taylor Schum and Melody Kneller each scored a run, Sarah Bird had one hit and two runs, Trinity Kipp finished with two hits and two runs and Madelyn Valoroso had one hit and a RBI.

For Towanda, Madi Doss, Hannah Chandler and Rachael Bair each had one hit; Gabby Larcom finished with one hit and a run; Cearra McClinko and Larisa Terry each had one hit and two runs; Justine Vargason added two hits and two runs; and Vanessa Vanderpool finished with two hits and one run.

Ward went the distance for Wyalusing, striking out two and walking two.

Sydney Schoonover started for Towanda, striking out two and walking four in four innings of work. Emily Dunn pitched the last three innings, striking out three and walking four.

Athens 7, Troy 3

Mimi Martin hit a home run and had three RBI to lead Athens to their 7-3 win over Troy in local softball action on Monday.

For Athens, Emma Adams had one run, three hits, including one double and two RBI; Reagan Lynch finished with one run and two hits; Aubrey Allen added two runs, two hits and one RBI; Mckenzie Strobridge finished with one hit and one RBI; Taylor Jenney had one run and one hit and Kendra Brown finished with one run.

For Troy, Nicole Spalding and Gabby Cory each had one hit; Allison Beers scored a run; Vanessa Watson added two hits and one RBI; Roxanne Kingsley had two hits; Caitlyn Hoffmann had one run, one hit and one RBI; and Riley McClellan finished with one run and one hit.

Adams started pitching for Athens. She threw four innings, allowing two runs, one earned on three hits, and struck out one. Aubrey Allen relieved her and threw the last three innings, allowing one run one five hits and striking out two.

Watson pitched a complete game for Troy, allowing seven runs, five earned, on 11 hits and striking out seven.

NEB 7, Williamson 1

Jaycee Brown scored two runs, hit the first home run of her career, a double and had two RBI to lead NEB to their 7-1 victory over Williamson on Monday.

For NEB, Megan Brown had one run and one RBI; Gabby Slater had one run, two hits, including a double, and one RBI; Annie Williams finished with one run, one hit and an RBI; Katie Boardman finished with one hit; Taya Howell added one run and a double; and Jordan Shumway had one run.

For Williamson, Emylee Yusko had one hit, Kendra Colegrove finished with two hits and one RBI, Emma Durst added one run, and Sarah Learn had two hits.

Slater pitched for NEB, allowing one run on five hits and striking out six.

Yusko pitched for Williamson, allowing seven runs, five earned, and striking out one.

Canton 13, Cowanesque Valley 9

Haley Wesneski scored two runs, hit a double and had two RBI to lead Canton to their 13-9 victory over CV on Monday.

For Canton, Evelyn Katona had two runs, a double and one RBI; Vanessa Wesneski added one run, one hit and three RBI; Brooke Ward had two runs and one hit; Hannah Gilliland finished with two runs; Emily Ferguson added two runs and two hits; Joslyn Spencer had one run; and MacKayla Wesneski had one run, one hit and two RBI.

For CV, Hayley Murphy had one run, three hits, including a double, and two RBI; Emma McClaren had one RBI, Ashleigh Southard finished with one run and one hit; Amaya Walker had two runs, one hit and one RBI; Brynn Williams added two runs and two hits, including a double; Madison Lee finished with one run, three hits, including a triple, and four RBI; and Julia Draper and Rylie Ortt each had one run and one hit.

Katona pitched for Canton, allowing nine runs, eight earned, and striking out three.

Southard pitched for CV, allowing 13 runs, none earned, and striking out three.
