NEB wins NEB tourneyThe Northeast Bradford softball team defeated Candor 9-1 in the first game of the NEB tournament on Saturday.

Annie Williams threw a complete game for the Panthers, striking out a career-best 16 and allowing one run on two hits.

On offense, Megan Brown had a run, a single, an RBI and a stolen base, Gabby Slater, Jordan Shumway, Jenna Hansen, Lindsay Moore and Jenna Saxe had one run each, Annie Williams had a double and an RBI, McKenna Wheaton finished with a run, a single and two RBI, Katie Boardman had one run, two hits including a home run, an RBI and a stolen base, McKenzie Haight added one hit, Taya Howell had one RBI, and Jaycee Brown finished with one run, a single and an RBI.

NEB 12, Susquehanna 1

NEB defeated Susquehanna 12-1 in their second game in the NEB tournament on Saturday.

Gabby Slater threw the first six innings for NEB, striking out nine and allowing one unearned run on one hit. Lindsay Moore threw the last inning, striking out two and allowing no runs.

Freshman Morgan Post had a career high three hits, with two doubles, and a career-best four RBI, while scoring a run in the win.

For NEB, Williams had two runs, a double and an RBI, Jenna Saxe scored three runs and had one hit, Boardman added one run and a double, Haight finished with one hit and one RBI, Taya Howell contributed two runs, two hits and an RBI, Jaycee Brown had two runs.

Wyalusing 13, Mountain View 3 (5 innings)

Kyleigh Ward pitched a complete game, striking out six batters and walking four to lead Wyalusing to their 13-3 win over Mountain View on Saturday.

Kristie Epler, Hailey Newhart, Samantha Wood, Hailey Hemmerly and Taylor Schum each had a hit and a run for Wyalusing. Sarah Bird, Ward, Melody Kneller and Leanne Kipp each scored a run, Emily Champluvier scored two runs,and Autumn Dietz and Trinity Kipp added a run, hit and an RBI each.

Wyalusing goes to Towanda on Tuesday.
