Liberty softball edges Athens in eight innings.

MANSFIELD -- North Penn-Liberty softball edged Athens 2-1 in eight innings on Friday.

Jill Berguson was at the plate in the bottom of the eighth with runners on second and third and faked a bunt, the catcher missed the ball and the winning run slid home.

Lauren Smith had two hits and Mackenzie Heater had a triple. Carmen Bates had a hit and an RBI and Liz Williams had a hit.

Savanah Doney got the win on the mound for Liberty.

Athens got two hits each from Emma Adams and Reagan Lynch and Mimi Martin had a hit. Haley Berry had an RBI and Makenzie Strobridge and Leah Reid had hits for Athens.

Emma Adams pitched for Athens, allowing five hits.

Liberty hosts Bloomsburg at 1 p.m. today.

Notre Dame 11, Tioga 2

SOUTHPORT, N.Y. -- Courteney Crater had her seventh straight multi-hit game as the Crusaders stayed unbeaten.

Crater had two doubles, four RBI and two runs scored and Maura Glovins had two hits, two RBI and a run scored.

Mackenzie Mahajan had three hits, an RBI and two runs scored and Izzy Milazzo had two hits and an RBI.

Jordyn Fargo and Chloe Stemerman each had hits for Notre Dame. Fargo had an RBI and a run scored and Stemerman, Taylor VanDine, Peyton Maloney and Ally Wichtowski all scored runs.

Milazzo threw a five hitter, striking out seven for Notre Dame.

Sarah Hollenbeck had two hits, with a run scored, for Tioga and Megan Godfrey had a hit and scored a run.

Marissa Howe had a double and two RBI and Mariah Culver had a hit.

Madalyn Dydynski struck out one in one inning on the mound and Culver struck out two in five innings.

Williamson 2, Canton 1

Williamson led 2-0 after five innings and held on for the win Friday.

Williamson scored in the second and fifth innings. Canton got a run in the sixth, but Williamson got back-to-back outs, the second by strikeout, to end the threat.

Emma Durst threw a two hitter for Williamson, striking out five in the victory.

Emylee Yusko had a hit and Kendra Colegrove had two hits, with a double.

Micaiah Welch had a hit and scored a run and Ella Durst scored a run.

Evelyn Katona threw a four-hitter for Canton with five strikeouts and Lauryn Watkins had both Canton hits, with an RBI. Hailey Wesneski scored Canton's run.

NEB 4, Wyalusing 2, 9 innings

The Panthers scored two runs in the ninth inning to pick up the win on Friday.

McKenzie Haight had a two-run double in the ninth, scoring Katie Boardman and Jaycee Brown for the win.

Gabby Slater pitched all nine innings, striking out eight and allowing five hits.

Megan Brown had two hits and an RBI and Morgan Post had two hits, with her first career home run, a double and an RBI and a run scored.

Brown had two hits and scored two runs and Haight had a double and two RBI. Boardman scored a run in the win.

Kyleigh Ward had a home run for Wyalusing and Autumn Dietz, Sarah Bird and Melody Kneller had hits. Kneller had an RBI and Kristie Epler scored a run.

Ward allowed seven hits and struck out two for Wyalusing.
