Tioga edges Edison.

Sam Wood threw a three-hitter with seven strikeouts, walking none, to lead Tioga to a 2-1 win over Edison on Thursday.

"Sam pitched a great game," Tioga coach Heather Klossner said. "This is a big win for us and we just want to keep working hard from here on out. We knew this was a big one and wanted to walk away with the win headed into next week when we have five games."

Madelyn Dydynski had the game-winning RBI single in the seventh inning, driving home Sarah Hollenbeck, who had doubled.

Hollenbeck had two doubles in the game, Dydynski, Mariah Culver and Brittany Vergason had hits. Culver scored a run for Tioga.

McKenzie Slaven had a five-hitter for Edison, striking out 10 in the loss.

Tioga is at O-M today.

Towanda 7, Sayre 0

Jayde Parsons threw a two-hitter, with six strikeouts, to lead Towanda to the win.

Larisa Terry had two hits, with a home run, two RBI and a run scored and Madi Doss had two hits, with a triple, and a run scored.

Cearra McLinko had two hits and an RBI, with a run scored and Cortney Ritts had a hit and scored a run.

Justine Vargason had a hit and scored a run and Casey Hawley had a hit, an RBI and a run scored, while Maggie Falsey had two hits, with an RBI and a run scored.

Parsons had a double and two RBI.

Kate Cron and Sydney Post had hits for Sayre.

Kaitlynn McCarter struck out one for Sayre.

Towanda is at Wyalusing today.

Liberty 3, Williamson 2

Kristina Buchanan and Savanah Doney combined to strike out three for Liberty in the win.

Liberty scored two runs in the second and got the winning run in the fifth.

Brooke Harvey had two hits, with an RBI, and Abby Heatley had a hit.

Savanah Doney had a hit and scored the winning run in the fifth off an RBI from Emily Strange.

Becca Rosell and Jillian Berguson had hits and scored runs for Liberty.

Sarah Bates had a double and struck out two on the mound for Williamson.

Kailee Shaefer had an RBI and Andi Regalbuto had a hit and scored a run, while Emma Durst had a hit and an RBI and Hannah Fitzmartin had a hit for Williamson.

Candor 12, Waverly 5

Candor scored five runs in the seventh to break open the game.

Kalie Herriman had a hit and scored a run for Waverly and Madison Klossner had three hits, with two doubles.

Shailei Kraft had two hits, with a double, an RBI and a run scored and Zoe Mennig had two hits, with a double, and an RBI.

Kendra Ellers had a hit, an RBI and a run scored and Karleigh VanNess had a hit and scored a run, while Michealla Gallagher had a hit.

Ellers struck out five in four innings and Kraft struck out eight in three innings on the mound.
