CV, Wellsboro, NEB softball get wins.

The Cowanesque Valley softball team picked up a 9-5 win at Towanda on Tuesday.

The Indians scored a run in the first, one in the third, two in the fourth, two in the fifth and three in the sixth to get the win.

Towanda got all five of their runs in the sixth and seventh innings.

Becky Plummer had a hit, two runs scored and stole a base for CV and Maddy Hatch had a hit and scored a run.

Kayla Schauer had a double, a run scored and two RBI and Jessi Prutsman had a hit.

Madison Lee scored a run and Taylor Hager and Madeline Heyler each had a hit and scored a run for CV.

Hager started on the mound for CV and struck out five.

Madi Doss and Mackenzie Roof each had a hit and scored a run for Towanda. Sam Peachey scored a run and Rachael Bari had a hit and scored a run. Courtney Ritts scored a run, Larisa Terry had a hit and two RBI and Maggie Falsey had a hit.

Justine Vargason started on the mound for Towanda and Jayde Parsons also pitched, the two struck out four.

Wellsboro 9, Sayre 0

Alexa Singer and Alyssa Yungwirth combined on a one-hitter, striking out 11 for the Green Hornets in the win.

Yungwirth struck out eight in five innings, allowing one hit and one walk. Singer struck out three and walked two in two no-hit innings.

Jenny Young had two doubles, an RBI and a run scored for Wellsboro and Yungwirth had a pair of hits, two runs scored and an RBI.

Sarah Ingerick scored two runs and Singer had a double, an RBI and a run scored.

Peyton Wilson scored a run and Paige Carr had a hit and an RBI.

Sydney Tremper had a hit, an RBI and a run scored and Baylea Lehman had a hit, an RBI and a run scored.

Kaitlynn McCarter had Sayre's hit. She pitched the game as well, striking out one.

NEB 8, Liberty 7, 9 innings

The Panthers scored four runs in the ninth and held off Liberty after they answered with three in the bottom half of the inning.

In the ninth the international tie-breaker rule was in play and Maddy Johnson started at second. Katie Boardman singled and Annie Williams singled home Johnson. Julia Williams doubled home Boardman and Williams and Williams scored on a passed ball.

Johnson had two hits, two runs and a stolen base for NEB and Boardman had a hit, an RBI and scored two runs.

Annie Williams had two hits and an RBI and McKenna Wheaton had a hit.

Julia Williams had two hits, with a double, two RBI and two runs and Danielle Moore had a double.

Mariah Berguson had a home run, a double, a single, two runs and two RBI for Liberty.

Gabby Slater struck out 10 and walked two in seven innings for NEB and Annie Williams struck out one and walked two in two innings.

Kristina Buchanan pitched 5 1/2 innings for Liberty and Berguson pitched in relief.

Liberty got an RBI single from Jillian Berguson that brought home Lauren Smith and Emily Strange scored on Mariah Berguson's double, while McKenzie Payne scored on her single. Abby Heatley scored on a wild pitch and Jillian Berguson scored on a Heatley hit, while Delany Colton scored on a wild pitch.
