Wyalusing falls to Loyalsock in back and forth battle.

Wyalusing wasn't able to hold a lead as they fell to Loyalsock 7-5 in District IV, Class AA softball quarterfinal action Friday.

Loyalsock led 1-0 after the first inning but in the top of the third the Rams scored three runs to take a 3-1 lead.

The Lancers cut it to 3-2 after the bottom half of the inning then tied it up 3-3 after the fourth.

In the top of the fifth Wyalusing found their bats again as they scored two more runs to once again take a lead, this time 5-3.

Loyalsock came right back in the bottom half of the inning, scoring three runs to go up 6-5. The Lancers added another run in the sixth to secure the win.

Kate Epler went 3-for-4 to lead the Rams while Kasey Devoir was 2-for-4.

Emily Faulkner earned the loss.

For the Lancers Kendall Watkins was 2-for-4 with two home runs and 3-RBI while Alllie Pagana also had a home run.

Kay Kay Lupo, Allison Czap and Elizabeth Haller had two hits each for the Lancers as well.

Kayla Gee picked up the win for Loyalsock.

Loyalsock will face Towanda next Tuesday, 4:00 p.m. at Elm Park.
