Wyalusing blanks Williamson.

Wyalusing jumped out early in their 8-0 win over Williamson in NTL softball action Tuesday.

The Rams scored five runs in the first and three more in the fourth.

Kasey DeVoir led the way, going 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored while Erin Canfield added a double. Paighton Martin, Cierra Holland and Emily Faulkner also had hits.

Martin and Ally DeVoir both scored twice while Faulkner and Katie Epler crossed home once.

Faulkner earned the shut out win, going the distance to strike out eight while allowing one walk.

For Williamson Megan Wyble (2-for-3) and Calli Cody (2-for-2) had multiple hits on the afternoon while Andi Rebalbuto also had a hit.

Sarah Bates started and earned the loss with five walks, four hits and eight runs. Emma Durst came on in relief with two strikeouts, one walk and two hits.

Wyalusing will host Elk Lake today.

Bloomsburg 19, Sullivan County 0, 5 innings

The Griffins had a rough start to the season in Heartland Conference softball action Tuesday as they lost to last year's District IV, Class A runners-up.

Mackenzie Doyle and Kayla Magargle had one hit each for Sullivan while Alexis Kiess earned the loss with 12 earned runs, 11 walks and one strikeout.

Sullivan also had some strong defense as Sadie Lewis had a put out with three assists while Magargle had a put out with two assists.

They also had a double play catching a runner trying to tag up from third to home. Emily McMahon made a catch in deep left field, relayed it to Lewis who threw it home to Torie Shultz for the out at home.
