Wickwire pitches Towanda past CV.

2014 Towanda vs. Cowanesque Valley SoftballWYSOX - Alaina Wickwire threw a two-hit shutout, striking out 13, as Towanda defeated Cowanesque Valley 9-0 in NTL softball action on Thursday.

Wickwire didn't walk anyone and in the last two games she has allowed a total of three hits, no walks and no runs.

At the plate Sam Schoonover was 2-for-2 with a double, four RBI and three runs scored. Koryn Wickwire had two hits and scored three runs for Towanda.

Alaina Wickwire had two hits and an RBI and Jayde Parsons scored a run.

Laciann Manning had two hits, with a triple, and two RBI and Bella Bartholomew had a hit and an RBI.

Mackenzie Roof had a hit for Towanda and Casey Hawley had a hit and scored two runs.

Becky Plummer and Lexi Heyler had hits for CV. Shanelle Ianson struck out six for the Indians on the mound.

Tioga 19, Marathon 1

Sam Wood was 5-for-5 at the plate and she limited Marathon to three hits on the mound as Tioga picked up the win.

Tioga had 20 hits on the day as Katelyn Stubbs and Britt Vergason each added three hit days for Tioga.

Wood had 2 doubles, five RBI and scored a run and on the mound she allowed three hits, one walk and one unearned run, striking out three.

Stubbs scored two runs and Vergason had a double, five RBI and two runs scored.

Taylor Ayres had two hits, three runs and three RBI and Liv Klett scored two runs.

Dani Barto had two hits, with a double, two runs and an RBI and Sarah Hollenbeck had two hits, two runs and an RBI.

Lexi Swagler had two hits, two runs and two RBI and Victoria Swansborough had a hit, an RBI and two runs.

Steph Armstrong had an RBI and scored a run.

Tioga, who leads the division, is at Candor, who is second in the division, today.

NEB 12, Canton 0

Chelsie Souto threw a three-hit shutout for the Panthers in the win.

Souto struck out 12 and walked five. At the plate Souto had a double and three RBI for NEB.

Annie Williams went 2-for-2 with a double, an RBI and three runs scored for NEB and Maddy and Calla Johnson each scored runs.

Danielle Moore had a hit, an RBI and two runs scored and Angelia Laudermilch had a hit and scored a run.

Bridget Haverly had a hit and scored a run and Monica Brown had a double and an RBI.

Courtney Coleman had an RBI and a run scored and Hannah Dum and Katie Boardman each scored runs for NEB.

Kellsy Ross struck out five and allowed five hits and four unearned runs, with one walk, in five innings. Sammy Deljanovan struck out three and allowed two hits and eight runs, five earned, in two innings.

Ross, Emily Jennings and Maggy Machmer had hits for Canton in the game.

Athens 10, Liberty 4

Aubrey Allen had a home run and a double, three runs scored and two RBI to lead Athens to the win on Thursday.

Reagan Lynch had two hits, with a run scored and Mackenzie Hafer and Haley Priester each had an RBI.

Miranda Peterson scored a run and Jensen Dunkling had two hits, with a triple, and three runs scored.

Mackenzie Warner three hits and three RBI and Rica Dimon had two hits, with a run scored, while Hannah Reid had a hit and scored a run.

Miranda Peterson struck out none and walked three in two innings and Jensen Dunkling pitched five shutout innings, allowing two hits and striking out four.

Mariah Berguson had a home run for Liberty, with a run scored and two RBI and Kasey Powlison had two hits.

Rachel Strange had a double, an RBI and a run scored and Lauren Smith and Kristina Buchanan each scored runs.

Berguson struck out one and walked three on the mound.
