Wellsboro blanks Canton; Towanda edges Susquehanna.

2014 Sayre vs. Millville SoftballThe Wellsboro Green Hornets edged Canton 2-0 in an NTL softball game on Saturday.

The Green Hornets got both their runs in the fourth inning. Sarah Ingerick and Alexa Singer scored the runs and Singer had a double in the game, while Paige Carr had a hit and an RBI.

Jordan Butters, Ingerick and Maggie Smith added hits in the game.

Singer and Brooke Kohler combined to strike out 12 on the mound in a two hitter.

Makenzy Route and Kellsy Ross had Canton's hits and Ross struck out seven on the mound.

Wellsboro hosts NEB on Tuesday.

Towanda 2, Susquehanna 1

The Black Knights got a double and a run scored from Alaina Wickwire and Mackenzie Roof had a hit and an RBI as they scored runs in the fourth and sixth innings to get the win.

Susquehanna tied things in the top of the sixth, but the Black Knights scored in the bottom half of the inning for the win.

Koryn Wickwire had a hit and three steals and Emily Gorman had a double, while Casey Hawley scored a run.

Alaina Wickwire struck out seven and allowed three hits in the win.

Towanda is at Liberty on Monday.

Sayre 11, Millville 0, 5 innings

SAYRE - The Redskins scored five in the first on their way to a win on Saturday.

Kaitlyn Victor had three hits and three RBI, with a run scored and Kassandra Winters had a pair of hits, including a double, a run scored and two RBI.

Kaitlyn Tappan had a hit and Kristyn Tappan had two hits and scored two runs. Kate Cron had two hits and scored two runs and Paige Wampole had two hits and scored a run.

Brook Wampole had two hits, an RBI and she scored two runs and Kaitlynn McCarter had two hits, with a double, two RBI and a run scored. Emalie Schaeffer had two hits, a run scored and an RBI.

Kristyn Tappan struck out five in a six-hit shutout.

CV 14, Northern Potter 3

CV 6, Northern Potter 4, 9 innings

The Indians swept a doubleheader on Saturday.

In the 14-3 win Shanelle Ianson had a grand slam, and drove in five, for the Indians and Lexi Heyler and Jessie Prutsman each had a double, an RBI and two runs scored.

Courtney Schauer had three hits, three RBI and she scored two runs and Becky Plummer had two hits and scored two runs. Maddie Heyler had an RBI and Julie Brubaker had two hits, an RBI and a run scored.

Taylor Hager had a hit and scored a run and Whitney Earl had two hits and scored two runs. Debra Bieser had an RBI and Jessie Farman had a hit and scored a run.

Courtney Schauer struck out three and allowed one hit on the mound.

In the other game Hager struck out six in 5 2/3 innings and Ianson struck out five in 3 1/3 innings.

Lexi Heyler had two hits and scored three runs and Plummer had two hits and scored a run. Prutsman had two hits, an RBI and scored a run and Ianson had two hits.

Brubaker had a hit, two RBI and a run scored and Hager had a hit.

Schauer had two hits and an RBI and Farman had an RBI.
