Towanda blanks Wellsboro.

Alaina Wickwire shut out Wellsboro as the Black Knights picked up a 6-0 win in NTL Large School softball action Friday.

Alaina Wickwire allowed four hits and struck out nine.

Koryn Wickwire went 3-for-4 with an RBI to lead Towanda while Sam Schoonover was 2-for-4 with a triple and 3-RBI. Alaina Wickwire was 2-for-3 while Sam Peachey added a double.

For Wellsboro Peyton Wilson and Maggie Smith both had doubles while Sarah Ingerick and Brooke Kohler hit singles.

Alexa Singer started with Kohler brought in for relief. They combined for four strikeouts.

The Hornets are at Athens Monday.

Edison 3, Waverly 0

The Wolverines were held to two hits in their IAC Large School softball loss Friday.

Edison scored a run right off the bat in the top of the first and led 1-0 most of the way.

Then in the top of the sixth Kate Warren hit a 2-run home run to extend the lead to 3-0.

Mackenzie Slaven had the only other Edison hit, a triple in the first inning that led to the first run.

Slaven earned the win, going the distance to strike out nine while allowing two hits and one walk.

For Waverly Sam Mennig was strong in the loss, going the distance to strike out nine while allowing the two hits and only one earned run.

Reylyn Schwartzhoff and Becca Morgan had the two Waverly hits.

Canton 9, Sayre 3

The Redskins jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning but after that it was all Warriors as they picked up the NTL Small School softball win Friday.

Kellsy Ross was 3-for-4 with two doubles, a triple and three runs scored to lead Canton while Lauryn Watkins was 3-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI and Maggy Machmer went 3-for-4 with two runs scored.

Lacey Castle was 2-for-3 with a double, run scored and 3-RBI while Whitney Bailey also had a hit.

Kelsey Griffen and Kayla Ward each crossed home while Makenzy Route drove in a run as well.

Ross earned the win, striking out six while allowing 10 hits, one walk and three earned runs.

Katelyn Tappan, Kaitlyn Cron and Paige Wampole all went 2-for-4. Cron's included a double while she and Tappan both scored.

Kristyn Tappan had a hit with a run scored and 2-RBI while Maria Servedio and Dominique Woodruff also had hits.

Kristyn Tappan earns the loss, going six innings to allow four walks, nine hits and four earned runs with one strikeout.

Troy 10, Athens 3

The Trojans pounded their way to an NTL Large School softball win Friday.

They had 10 hits while Taylor Johnston had a fourth inning grand slam.

Taylor Murray had three hits with a solo home run while Faith Ceely also had four hits. Kelsey Bristol, Kayla Stephani and Brooke Mattocks also had hits.

Jerilyn Ross earned the win with two strikeouts and no walks.

For Athens Jensen Dunkling had two hits, a home run and a double, while Mackenzie Hafer and Morgan Westbrook had two hits each. Mackenzie Warner also had a hit.

Dunkling earned the loss, striking out one while allowing nine walks.

Troy is at Wyalusing Monday.

Wyalusing 14, Liberty 4, 5 innings

The Rams pounded out 19 hits as they picked up an NTL Large School softball win Friday.

Kasey DeVoir went 4-for-4 with a double, two runs and 2-RBI to lead the Wyalusing attack while Ciera Holland was 3-for-5 with a home run, two runs and 4-RBI, Kylie Ward was 3-for-4 with two triples and three runs, Ally Devoir was 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI, Emily Faulkner was 2-for-4 with two runs while Taylor Schum and Paighton Martin both went 2-for-3 with a run scored.

Mackenzie Crewson had a hit with a run scored and an RBI while Erin Canfield also scored.

Faulkner earned the win, going four innings to strike out six while allowing one walk and one hit.

Ward went the final inning with one strikeout, four hits and four runs.

Mariah Berguson had a triple with a run scored for Liberty while Lauren Smith, Kristian Buchanan and Rachel Strange also had hits. Smith and Strange also scored.

Berguson earned the loss while Buchanan also saw action, striking out one.

Wyalusing hosts Troy Monday.

Cowanesque Valley 10, Williamson 7

The Indians picked up an NTL Small School softball win Friday.

Taylor Hager led CV, going 2-for-4 with a home run, 4-RBI and two runs while Courtney Schauer was 2-for-4 with two doubles, a run scored and an RBI.

Shanelle Ianson went 2-for-4 with a double while Whitney Earl was 2-for-3 with two runs.

Jess Prutsman had a double with two runs and an RBI while Julie Brubaker, Lexi Heyler and Maddy Hatch also had hits.

Brubaker, Hatch and Maddie Heyler scored while Brubaker also drove in a run.

Ianson earned the win, going the distance with seven strikeouts, four walks, and four earned runs.

For Williamson Sarah Bates was 3-for-5 with a double while Calli Cady was 1-for-3 with a home run, two runs and 2-RBI.

Makayla Buttz was 2-for-4 with a double and run scored with Sam Herrington also 2-for-4 with a run scored.

Andi Regalbuto and Markaley Everett also had hits.

Megan Wyble, Kendra Colegrove and Everett scored runs while Wyble and Regalbuto kocked in runs.

Bates scored the loss, striking out two while allowing seven walks, 12 hits and eight earned runs.

SECOND GAME: Notre Dame 15, Watkins Glen 0

The Crusaders picked up two IAC Large School softball wins Friday.

In the first game Alaina Steadman went 4-for-4 to lead Notre Dame with a run scored and an RBI.

Morgan Cox had three hits, including a double and triple, with three runs and 3-RBI, Alivia Clark had three hits, including a double and triple, with 2-RBI and three runs while Brooke Harvey had two doubles with a home run with 3-RBI and three runs scored.

Allie Wichtowski had two hits with two runs while Brooke Smith had a triple with four runs scored. Mackenzie Mahajan had a hit with two runs and an RBI, Mackenzie Maloney had a hit and one run while Maura Glovins had a hit with 3-RBI and two runs scored.

Clark earned the win with nine strikeouts.

In the second game Clark led the way with three hits, including a double and home run, with two runs and 2-RBI while Maloney had three hits with two runs, a double and an RBI.

Cox went 2-for-3 with a run scored and 3-RBI, Mahajan had a double with two runs scored, Harvey had a hit with four runs and an RBI, Alie Raupers had a hit with an RBI and two runs scored while Alice Keita had a hit with an RBI.

Isabele Millazo also scored for Notre Dame.

Clark earned the win with eight strikeouts.
