NEB softball edges Wyalusing.

2014 Wyalusing vs. Norhteast Bradford SoftballWYALUSING - It took nine innings, but the Northeast Bradford Panthers left Wyalusing with a win on Thursday, coming out on top 6-5.

Wyalusing took a 2-0 lead after the first inning, before the Panthers scored five in the fourth to take a 5-2 advantage.

Wyalusing got a run in the sixth and two in the seventh to tie things, before Northeast won it in the ninth.

In the ninth Chelsie Souto reached on an error and Katie Boardman came in to run. A Monica Brown sacrifice moved Boardman to second and she took third on a passed ball and scored on a passed ball.

"I thought for the most part we played well," Northeast Bradford coach Gary Hennip said. "Wyalusing is a good, solid team. I thought we played well enough to win. There are things we can still do better, but it was a nice win for us."

Maddy Johnson had a double and an RBI in the game and Calla Johnson had a hit and scored a run.

Angelia Laudermilch had a hit and scored a run and Bridget Haverly had a double and an RBI.

Courtney Coleman and Monica Brown each had hits and Danielle Moore had a hit and scored a run.

Boardman, Cassie Johnson and Megan Brown all scored runs.

Souto struck out seven and walked five, allowing eight hits in the game.

Emily Faulkner allowed seven hits and two walks and struck out nine in the game.

Ally DeVoir had a triple and Kate Epler had a hit and scored a run. Paighton Martin had a hit and scored a run and Trinity Kipp scored a run, while Emily Faulkner had a hit.

Kasey DeVoir had two hits with an RBI and two runs scored and Erin Canfield had two hits, with a double, and an RBI.

NEB got a big defensive play in the ninth to seal the win. After Ally DeVoir tripled, Annie Williams made a backhanded stop at third base and threw DeVoir out at the plate to stop the tying run from scoring.

NEB is at Canton today and Wyalusing is at Towanda.

Tioga 16, Candor 1, 5 innings

TIOGA, N.Y. - Sam Wood threw a two-hitter, striking out 10 and walking none in the victory.

Katelyn Stubbs had two hits, with a run scored, and stole three bases and Taylor Ayres had a hit and scored two runs.

Wood had two hits, two runs scored and an RBI and Dani Barto had two hits, a stolen base and scored four runs.

Britt Vergason was 4-for-4 with a double, four RBI and four runs scored and Sarah Hollenbeck had a hit, an RBI and scored three runs.

Rachael Graham had two RBI and Lexi Swagler had a double and two RBI.

Tioga is at Odessa-Montour today.

CV 10, Bucktail 0, 6 innings

Jessi Prutsman was 4-for-4 with a home run to lead CV and Becky Plummer had three triples.

Courtney Schauer had two hits and Julie Brubaker and Maddy Hatch each had hits.

Taylor Hager struck out six, walked three and allowed one hit in three innings and Hatch struck out five, walked two and allowed a hit in three innings.

Montgomery 13, Sullivan County 6

The Griffins got two hits and two runs scored from Kayla Rosbach, who had 10 assists at first base defensively, in the loss on Thursday.

Kayla Margargle had a pair of hits, with a double, and a run scored and Bethany Weinhardt had a hit and a run scored and five assists defensively.

Mackenzie Doyle had five outfield assists, four put outs and turned a double play defensively and Alexis Keiss had a hit and scored a run.

Keiss and Torie Schultz pitched for Sullivan.
