CV softball tops Williamson.

Friday was a great day for Jessi Prutsman as she clubbed two home runs to carry Cowanesque Valley to an 11-6 victory over Williamson.

Cowanesque Valley Varsity scored five runs in the first inning to build an early lead.

Shanelle Ianson got the win for Cowanesque Valley Varsity despite allowing six runs over seven innings. Ianson struck out seven, walked one and gave up 11 hits.

The top of the first saw Williamson take an early lead, 2-0. Sierra Magnata singled to ignite Williamson's offense. A single by Jamie Cook then moved Magnata from first to third. Kim Daughtery singled, scoring Magnata. Another run crossed the plate for Williamson as Cook scored on an error.

Cowanesque Valley posted two runs in each of the second, fourth and sixth. In the second, Cowanesque Valley scored on an RBI double by Prutsman, bringing home Brittany Plummer.

Three runs in the top of the fourth helped Williamson close the deficit to 7-6. An RBI single by Magnata and a two-run single by Cook fueled Williamson's. The Williamson threat came to an end when Ianson got Daugherty out to end the game.

Prustman was 3-for-4 with two home runs, a double and three RBI, Kayla Schauer had two hits, with a double, Ianson had two hits, with an RBI, and Whitney Earl had two hits and two RBI.
