2013 Canton vs. Sayre SoftballSAYRE - Kellsy Ross pitched a 5-hit shutout as Canton beat Sayre 10-0 in NTL softball action Friday.

Ross recorded four strikeouts and one walk in the win.

After two scoreless innings the Warriors tacked on seven in the third, then scored three more in the later stages of the game to win in six innings.

At the plate Courtney McFall was 3-for-3 with 3-RBI for Canton while Ross added two hits, a run scored and an RBI. Maggy Machmer, Makenzy Route and Kayla Shay also had hits.

Machmer scored twice in the game while Emily Ambruch, Chelsey Heatley, Route, Kelsey Griffin and Felicia Diefenderfer also crossed home.

Kayle Ward and Route had 2-RBI each while Ropss also knocked a run in.

Kelly Villanti, Kaitlyn Tappan, Kristyn Tappan, Maria Servedio and Paige Wampole had hits for Sayre.

Kristyn Tappan scores the loss, allowing eight hits while striking out two.

Late Thursday

Bloomsburg 13, Sullivan County 2

Another nine running inning doomed the Griffins in their second softball outing of the season Friday.

At the plate Brianna Baumunk had two hits with an RBI while Shelby Zeller and Addie Jordan also had singles. Zeller and Alexis Kiess scored the two runs.

Alyssa Blasi earned the loss, allowing 10 earned runs, nine hits and eight walks while striking out one.
