2012 Canton vs. Bucktail SoftballCANTON - Morgan Palmer hit a second-inning grand slam to help propel the Warriors to a 15-4 victory over Bucktail in five innings.

Palmer had a triple and a home run in the game, with three runs scored and five RBI.

Chelsea Heatley had three hits, with a home run, she scored three runs and drove in three.

Kayla Ward had two hits and scored three runs and Kellsy Ross had a double and scored two runs and she had an RBI.

Courtney Coyle had two hits, with a double, and she scored a run and she drove in two. Kaylin Baker had a double in the game and Makenzy Route had a hit and scored a run, while Macy McMurray had a hit and scored a run and Emily Ambruch had a hit and scored a run.

Heatly went the distance on the mount, striking out five and walking one, while allowing eight hits.

At Myrtle Beach

NEB 12, Burgettstown (Pittsburgh area) 3

The Northeast Bradford Panthers opened their season over the weekend at Myrtle Beach, winning a pair of games.

In the first game Kelsey Carlsen had a seven-RBI explosion at the plate and Chelsie Souto pitched three perfect innings of relief in the win.

Carlsen was 3-for-4 with two runs scored, two doubles, a home run, a stolen base and seven RBI. Souto pitched the final three innings of relief, allowing no hits or walks or runs and striking out six.

Haylie Phillips started, striking out five, walking four and allowing two hits and three runs, two earned. MaKaylah Holbert had three hits and scored three runs, with an RBI, while Calla Martin and Phillips each had a hit and scored two runs.

Nicki Emick had a hit and Aubri Mosier had two hits, with a double, and two RBI. Kelsey Goodwin had a triple and a run scored and Maddy Johnson had a hit, a stolen base, an RBI and a run scored.

NEB 3, West Geuga (Ohio) 0

Souto pitched a complete-game shutout, striking out 11 and walking one, while allowing three hits in the game.

Martin had a triple, an RBI and a run scored and Holbert had a hit and stole a base. Phillips had a hit, an RBI and a stolen base and Emick had a hit and scored a run.

Souto had an RBI and Johnson had two hits and scored a run.

Northeast Bradfords hosts Sayre on Thursday, April 5.
