Knights, Rams pick up NTL East wins.

2012 Wyalusing vs. Sayre SoftballATHENS - Alaina Wickwire tossed a no hitter to lead Towanda past Athens 10-0 in NTL East softball action Wednesday.

Alaina Wickwire had six strike-outs to get her third win of the season.

Towanda scored early, earning one run in the first and three more in the second to jump out in front. They tacked on four in the fifth to secure the win.

Koryn Wickwire led the way, going 3-for-4 with a triple and 4-RBI for Towanda while Tori Welliver, Alaina Wickwire and Michelle Aronson had two hits each, with Aronson adding an RBI.

Emily Gorman and Raven Vargason also had hits, with Gorman knocking in a run. Mackenzie Roof walked three times in the number nine spot for the Knights.

Wildcat Christin Dunkling took the loss. She struck out eight but allowed 11 hits and eight walks.

Towanda will travel to Northeast Bradford Friday while Athens is at Sayre.

Wyalusing 13, Sayre 1

SAYRE - The Rams picked up their first NTL East win of the season Wednesday.

Kasey DeVoir led Wyalusing at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI while sister Alley DeVoir was 2-for-3 in the game. Laci Holdren, Arielle Kneller, Cierra Holland and Emily Faulkner all had hits, with Kneller adding 2-RBI. Kneller and Holland's hits were doubles.

Faulkner earned the win, striking out nine while allowing two hits, one walk and no earned runs.

Kaitlyn Tappan had the two Redskin hits in the game while Kelsey Young scored their run. Kristyn Tappan earned the loss, striking out three while allowing six walks and nine hits.

Wyalusing will be at Canton Friday with Sayre hosting their cross-town rivals Athens.

Liberty 21, Galeton 0, 3 innings

Nikki McCaslin 2-hit Galeton to lead the Mountaineers past Galeton Wednesday.

Rachel Strange led the Liberty attack with three hits, including two home runs and 6-RBI, while Madison York, Brittany Crumb, Madison Wise, McCaslin and Cassie Fredericks had two hits each.

York added 5-RBI, Crumb had 4-RBI while Wise and Fredericks also drove in runs.

Liberty improves to 2-1 overall and 2-0 in NTL West play.
