Lady Hornets Shut Out By Athens.
 

The Wellsboro Varsity Softball team's woes continued as they dropped their 4th consecutive game after an 11-0 defeat against Athens on Tuesday, May 9.

Athens scored 5 times in the 2nd inning and added 6 in the third.

The Lady Hornets were held to just four hits on the afternoon, two by senior Jordyn Abernathy and one by senior Rylie Boyce and one from junior Caralyn Warner.

Boyce threw two and two thirds of an inning, allowing 11 runs (2 earned) on 5 hits with 7 walks. Senior Mariah Borden came on in relief, allowing one hit and striking out two.

The loss drops the Lady Hornets to 2-12 (2-11 NTL Large School Division). The team is back in action Thursday against Canton for Senior Night.
