Lady Hornets shut out NEB, 5-0.
 

Senior Maggie Smith hit a two-run home run and Sophomore Alexa Singer threw a two-hit shutout to lead the Wellsboro Varsity softball team to a 5-0 win over Northeast Bradford on Tuesday, April 22.

The Lady Hornets held a 1-0 lead in the fifth inning before Smith belted the ball over the fench to take a 3-0 lead. Senior Brooke Kohler scored the final two runs on the evening. Sophomore Sarah Ingerick, Singer, Kohler, and Junior Peyton Wilson all added hits and Junior Paige Carr drove in a run.

Singer struck out two and walked none to pick up her seventh win of the season.

The win improves the Lady Hornets' record to 7-1 (1-1 NTL Division 1). The team will be back in action today, April 23, as they host Wyalusing.
